LOVE FOR THE SEA...

Christina McGrath is a mixed media artist and is inspired by her love of the ocean. She adores surfing and works to protect the sea. She has been on adventures all over the world from Costa Rica, Bali, Sumatra, Nicaragua, East and South Coast USA and she takes her inspiration from her experiences - including her amazing view atop Paku in Tairua, New Zealand.

“I’m always in the water in my mind that is why the fluid mediums appealed to me. I love to see the paint flow across the canvas, a little out of control and morphing into different shapes. I remember the feel of the surf and I strive to recreate the feeling of the swell, movement, and power of the sea in my art. There is a rich feeling that I get by layering the deep blue colors, emerald greens, sand and whites. The pieces stimuate a sense of imagination and wonder, as one senses to see something in the shapes. I hope to instill a sense of peace, adventure, curiosity, and love for the ocean in all who see my art.”
