So as I sit here at 11:54 am on a Saturday afternoon, I am thinking of 12:30 when I can drink another PHD juice. The more you deprive yourself of something the more you focus on it, want it, and can’t live without it. HOWEVER, I come back to why am I doing this in the first place. The fact is I have been intensely studying and promoting detox and cleansing for years and years now. And thru this, I have come to a place in my life that I have finally discovered what foods were good for my system and what causes my mind and my stomach utter turmoil. Giving my body, life and my house a cleanse/detox is the number one thing in my mind that I can do to keep young, active and healthy.
My body ( and yours probably) needs a break – travel, different pollutants, questionable foods, toxic cleaners, air and car exhaust… the list goes on! You name it we have encountered it on our journey thru life and we need to give ourselves a detox or break each season.
SO there’s why I want to do it, BUT I’m active and I need energy!
Here are my 3 tips to detox and cleanse if you are active:
1. Eat food, real whole goodness. No processed or packaged food for 14 days – recommended.
I love what Dr. Libby says in her new book the Calorie Fallacy – “The way you feed yourself if the most basic, most fundamental way you demonstrate care for yourself. It is time to start dieting and start nourishing.”
You will find with more nutrients and whole foods you will have more energy and your system will run clean!
2. Drink 100 oz of filtered water a day. Flush out the system. Keep hydrated, this will keep energy up.
3. Find a program to follow with the amount a days you want to commit to ( 3, 7, 14, 28 days) and an expert that you identify with to navigate you thru your detox journey. And you know me, use essential oils! My favorites: LLV supplements, Lemon, Peppermint and Zendocrine oils.
There is also support and accountability in numbers, and you will be able to go the distance. Grab a friend too.
