If you ride your bike, run, surf, swim, snowboard, ski or any other sport for that matter – Here are my tips and tricks on what to use to reduce inflammation and speed up recovery time using doTERRA essential oils!
1. Use a few drops of Deep Blue Essential Oil on specific areas of soreness after exercise.
I use it directly on my traps after a ride or on a tight lower back. This blend of Wintergreen, Camphor, Peppermint, Blue Tansy, Blue Chamomile, Helichrysum, and Osmanthus works to relax sore muscles and ease achy joints. It works deeply and has an immediate cooling therapeutic effect. I find that it reduces my soreness for the next ride or work out so I’m ready!
2. Massage Deep Blue Rub on larger areas of the body.
I use the rub for my massage clients, and also on bigger muscle areas, back, thighs, calves. It is very easy to apply and handy to throw in your gym bag. I use this oil everyday, it’s a must have.
3. Use Slim and Sassy or Grapefruit oil on the back of the thighs for circulation/cellulite.
You may also a few drops in water to clean the system and flush out toxins. I love the taste, but it’s not for everyone. A little lemon or lime in the water too will help to detox the system too.
4. I also never leave home without taking my Lifelong Vitality Supplement (LLV) and Mito Max.
The LLV is the “perfect storm” of a whole food multivitamin, Omega 3 and 6 – land and sea blend, and an essential oil capsule to provide complete support for vitality, immunity, cardio health, healthy skin and brain function. I can see the difference in recovery and energy and I recommend it to all my clients!
Mito Max is for stamina and energy, it is a formula of plant extracts and metabolic co-factors that support healthy cellular energy production. I find that after long rides or days it gives me the energy without having to down an espresso every few hours – like I used to: ).
