A day of yoga for your health and your soul : )
Starting with a beautiful morning vinyasa flow, filled with energetic music, flowing movement, epic hip openers and graceful sun salutations the girls of Whangamata were simply nourishing their body and mind. I felt honored to lead such an inspiring bunch of women through a day of yoga. We explored flow and grace in the morning, and then soon after we honored ourselves with delicious raw food treats inspired by Dr. Libby Weaver. A big favorite were the bliss balls, made with sunflower seeds, walnuts, almonds, coconut, dates and love…and of course, coconut water to stay hydrated and blueberry, yogurt and banana smoothies filled with antioxidants. After our much needed snack, we retreated back to our cosy yoga lounge filled with soothing tunes, pillows, blankets, bolsters, blocks, eye pillows and lavender essential oil. We explored poses to stimulate digestion and calm our minds. When the energy rose after a few yin poses, we explored asanas such as Triangle and Half Moon – which are amazing for strengthening the hips and lower back. Last but not least, we explored a restorative sequence holding poses for 3-5 minutes each. The day for me was filled with awesome women learning, laughing, supporting each other, challenging themselves, demonstrating strength, focus and compassion. I look forward to the next one!
And that was not finished for some: I followed Vicki back to the bach to treat her to a relaxing massage, then scooted over to teach Steph the sport of paddleboarding in the harbor. Steph really got the knack of it just in time to paddle herself out the way of a lauch! Way to go girl 🙂 Time to call it a day team! Off to estuary yoga at 9 am, beach access #23. Don’t forget to set your clocks.
