Our bright eyes, shiny hair, strong nails and SKIN tell the story of what we eat, how we think, and what we do.
Do you want to glow, feel vibrant and healthy from the inside and out?
In the next six weeks follow me in a natural beauty quest with tips on natural beauty products and tips, yoga, and healthy food that nourishes the skin and body.
I battled with skin problems due to food allergies, antibiotics, medications, shampoos, and laundry detergents for about 10 years. In one way or another, all of these factors influenced acne on my face, back and shoulders in addition to a leaky gut problem. As a young woman, this was embarrassing and self esteem draining to say the least! But I have figured it out! Yes, after countless trips to dermatologists, doctors, and gastro specialists that all treated me with medications who made my condition worse – I took matters into my own hands. I personally started to work with my diet, alleviating chemicals I put on and around my body and worked with a naturopath to improve my digestive health. AND I experimented, studied and worked my problems out naturally – my body and skin feel and look great! I now work as a health and wellness coach helping others with digestive and skin problems too – I love it!
I am a strong advocate of clean eating, natural products and yoga for beauty, vitality and glowing skin. Join me on my journey of shining from the inside and out – to coin a phrase from my hero Dr. Libby Weaver.
SMOOTH AND SHINE
Would you like to detox your beauty habits and soften your skin naturally?
What 2 things can you do today to improve your skin and love up your body on the outside?
Dry Brushing with Essential Oils
Dry brushing is the single most effective way to rid dry skin cells, allowing your skin to breathe and increasing overall circulation and lymph drainage. You use a wooden handled brush with medium strength bristles, found in any store with beauty products – Whole Foods, Pharmacies or Bed, Bath and Beyond. I even have a small travel one!
You do this right before your shower when you are dry.
Apply a few drops of essential oils to your dry brush and use circular brushing motions towards your heart to increase circulation.
MY FAVORITE ESSENTIAL oils for Dry Brushing and WHY:
Geranium – Helps hydrate dry skin, provides hormonal support, helps wrinkles, jet lag, and it’s refreshing as well as relaxing.
Grapefruit – Slimming and toning, great for legs and cellulite, hangovers, PMS, and water retention.
Fennel – Revitalizing for the skin and great for digestive support.
Cypress – Great for muscle tone, circulation, and skin revitalization.
Cedarwood – Calming blend, great for water retention and skin revitalization.
Slim and Sassy Metabolic Blend– A blend of Grapefruit, Lemon, Peppermint, Ginger and Cinnamon great for controlling the appetite and I like to use this oils when dry brushing my midsection and thighs to reduce the appearance of cellulite. BE careful because this does have citrus oils it is best to avoid sunlight for 12 hours. I use it at night.
Exfoliation Gloves for washing instead of a washcloth using natural soaps that do not dry your skin.
Again, more exfoliation in the shower is stimulating to the lymph system and gets rid of dead skin cells. You can buy these at the same place as your brush and I love doing this after I dry brush. It leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft.
NOW – my challenge to you today is to go out and find these two items at your local store or from your bathroom drawers and try tonight!
It does take a few days of dry brushing to get used to it. It may seem intense at first but take it easy and light the first few times. Do it a few times a week and you can even alternate between dry brushing and exfoliation. Just watch your skin and notice the improvement and tone just after two weeks! Love to hear how you are going and your tips too – leave a message or tip below!
