Grounding Shoes: A Trend Not to Miss

Have you heard about Grounding? Or Earthing? They are both the same concept of reconnecting with the Earth. Now I don’t mean this as finding time to go hiking, camping or surfing. I mean it literally: making your skin physically connected to the Earth. One of my favorite ways to accomplish this is with grounding shoes.

Let’s get a little back-story here about why there is a concern with forming this person-earth connection before talking about shoes. All living beings historically lived in physical contact with the ground. Animals walked on dirt and grass daily. Plants grew in non-potted dirt. Humans even slept on the ground! This bond formed from Earth to living beings was extremely beneficial in helping to dispel free-radicals from organisms. Now many living beings are insulated from this strong bond in the form of wood floors, high rise buildings, carpet, and rubber soles. Our free-radicals are building up and causing various forms of inflammation in our bodies!

It can seem scary to be stuck in a society trying to insulate us from our daily and natural doctor, but there are solutions. Collectively the solutions are called “Earthing” or “Grounding”.
